How to make happiness a habit [Just 15 Min] starting NOW

I don’t know if you are prepared, but the next few days are going to be challenging. From now on we are going to add “habits of happiness “to your day. We will be tweaking your day, adding a little habit here and there to change your focus and actually make you happy. The whole focus for the next few days will be how to be happy and stay happy no matter what is going on in your life.

Am I Happy ?

Take a notice when you are happy and why. Ask yourself all throughout the day; use a reminder on your phone to set every hour with a simple question “Am I Happy?” If your answer is yes, great continue what you are doing. Otherwise, take a step back and try to recognize why are you unhappy and how can you fix it.

What is the source of your unhappiness, maybe you are looking at the situation the wrong way. If you hate your job, but love buying new things, let that be the focus why are you working here. Our aim here is a quick fix to be happy and stay that way.

 

Start your day with smile.

To make a happiness a habit start in the morning use one weird tip that tricks your brain to become happier. Get behind a mirror and force yourself to smile for a few minutes. It may sound weird but if happiness makes us smile, so can smiling makes us happy. Smiling releases a chemical reaction in our body that releases dopamine and serotonin. Serotonin reduces stress and dopamine increases our feeling of happiness. If you are feeling down try smiling for few minutes and see how it does makes you feel.

Stop comparing with others.

With whom have, you compared yourself in the last day? It’s easier than ever before to stay connected with people thanks to social media. People opened their private life to the world, but they share only their success. Seeing other people success, makes us feel bad about ourselves, and we can’t make any progress that way.

WE always compare our lows with their highs. This put a cloth over our eyes, we don’t see the hardship they endured, or how many time they have failed to achieve their goal. Some people who are very competitive thrive on that, always saying to themselves “one day you will all see”, but many of us aren’t like that. So stop focusing on their lives and focus on your own, be grateful where you at and remind yourself that everyone is running at a different time. And see other peoples success as an inspiration not as a comparison, congratulate them, they have earned that. Focus on your own path, create something that will make you proud.

Get Uncomfortable

Unhappiness can be found in mundane life, we live each day on the same template. See same people, do the same work, talk about the same old thing. We require variety in our life. Go try some new sport, take a new class, visit foreign countries and meet some new people. Trying new thing will scare you, as is always when leaving familiar ground. Take a risk to feel uncomfortable, you will gain new confidence, and most of all you’ll become a happier person. Remember time will pass anyway, only you can make the most of it.

Just think happy thoughts

Be aware of your thoughts. Are they positive or negative ? Thoughts influence our feelings and vice versa. IF you want to become a happier person you will have to think happy thoughts. Have happy thoughts, hope for the best, just see the bright side of every situation. When you catch yourself having a negative thought just change it something positive. This is one of the simplest, yet hardest habits to have. I know is impossible to have 100% happy thought all the time, but make sure that you have positive though most of your day.

 

For conclusion, I want to add one more thing and that is to start a small project, something that might take you 10-30 min to do each day, learning a new language, meditation, exercises, dance moves, writing, reading… When have you decided on your project, be committed for the next 30 day to do the work each day. Keep a calendar and write a big X when you have completed your work. Crossing of stuff and seeing progress in one of the most satisfying feelings we can get We become more confident and happier when we look back and see how much have we achieved. As everything new you will have a hard time getting to it, but eventually you will get used to it and it will become a part of your character.
