Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes
From the creator of hit television series Grey Anatomy and Scandal, comes a New York Bestseller how saying Yes has changed her life. Not to be confused with Jim Carreys movie “Yes Man”. While reading “Year of Yes” you will be surprised that Shonda Rhimes once was a introvert, who had social anxiety and public speaking was her biggest fear. You will learn what happened in her life that she decided to make such a big change and finally faced her fears. She made a rule to say Yes when hers children would ask to play or when she faced a challenge, she writes:“Saying yes is a powerful thing.”. The book is fun to read as to watch as author series are to binge watch. This isn’t your typical self-help book for women, but more a autobiography. It is a fun read whenever you have time or want some motivation.
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
One of my favorite books to read. I recommend everyone to buy a copy. We follow a story of a shepherd, who has repeatedly dreamed about wealth and fortune. One day he decides to follow his dream. The idea of following your dreams is old and beautiful one, while reading you will find a marvelous journey based on hope and faith. If you read any self-help books, you will recognize the principals behind every lesson the main character learns. Pursuing our dream comes with a price, but not living to our dreams also has price.
The Road Less Traveled by Dr. M. Scott Peck
Reading this you will faced with some hard truth. Avoiding hurdles and problems in life are the main cause of suffering in life. But the pain and suffering makes us stronger and to grow mentally we must face the difficulty that life throws at us. Your perspective will change it will make you think about everything you see in life, here are some take takeaways:
“ LIFE IS DIFFICULT. This is a great truth, one of the greatest truths. It is a great truth because once we truly see this truth, we transcend it. Once we truly know that life is difficult–once we truly understand and accept it–then life is no longer difficult. Because once it is accepted, the fact that life is difficult no longer matters.”
